The incredibly popular analogue function generator series TG300 and TG550 served as the foundation for the TG1006's development. To achieve improved precision, stability, and coverage across a larger frequency range, the TG1006 uses DDS frequency generation. The DDS (direct digital synthesis) method uses a phase accumulator, a look-up table, and a DAC to digitally create waveforms. The generated waveforms' precision and stability are dependent on the crystal master clock. The DDS generator provides great accuracy, stability, high spectrum purity, minimal phase noise, and excellent frequency agility when properly constructed.
